When twelve-year-old Maia Gough from Wales came on the stage of Britain’s Got Talent, she brought along quite a few fans: her mom, dad, grandmother, grandfather and a host of others. “So all of Wales, basically” joked judge David Williams.

When the judges asked her which song she was going to sing, she replied, “I Have Nothing” by Whitney Houston as she was her biggest idol. The judges were surprised by her song choice as a Whitney Houston song naturally required a mature voice. The raised eyebrows and sidelong glances between Simon and the others let us know they are thinking she may not “have the chops” to do it.

However all these skepticisms came to an end within few seconds when this young girl began singing pouring all her passion and enthusiasm in it! The judges couldn’t believe that it was a young twelve year old singing such difficult song in front of them.
