Claressa Shields lately released a diss track on Alycia Baumgardner after the latter publicly expressed she wanted to fight ‘T-Rex’ in the ring.

In the track titled “Yeah Glo!”, Shields publicly boasted of her achievements in boxing.

In doing so, Shields cleverly reminded Baumgardner of the challenge she had in ‘T-Rex’ as an opponent.

Soon, the boxing world heavily praised Shields’ rap. Publicly, ‘T-Rex’ was branded a better artist than the likes of Ice Spice and Cardi B.

Meanwhile, Shields’ promoter revealed that Alycia Baumgardner refused to fight Claressa at 154 lbs.

In December last year, during an Instagram Live, Alycia Baumgardner said she would fight Claressa Shields at 147 lbs. In this process, Baumgardner, who normally weighs 30 lbs less than ‘T-Rex’, stated that she did not bother about size. “It’s the skills, baby,” she had said. “Claressa, you don’t have to worry about the size, girl. Let’s make the fight happen,” Baumgardner insisted. At this, in addition to replying positively to Baumgardner’s call-out, Shields bragged about her boxing record in “Yeah Glo!”.

Besides reminding Baumgardner that she won a Gold medal at 17, Claressa Shields said she was a three-time undisputed and a 13-time world champion. “14-0, my record undefeated. Savannah had a o2. So, I had to delete it,” Shields, who feels Alycia is envious of her success, added, boasting of her victory against then-unbeaten star Savannah Marshall.

At this, a fan said Claressa Shields was the best female fighter in the world. In their opinion, Shields, a better rapper than Ice Spice, Sexy Red, and Cardi B, gave “Nick Minaj a run for her money” too. Later, the former unified Super-Lightweight champion, Richardson Hitchins, agreeing to the fan’s statement, wrote, “Facts“.

Anyway, while Shields’ diss track on Baumgardner was praised, the former’s manager revealed that Alycia never actually wanted to face ‘T-Rex’.

After Alycia Baumgardner called out Claressa Shields, the latter’s manager Dmitry Salita spoke to BoxingScene. As per Salita, Baumgardner’s wish to face Shields is “complete nonsense“. In her opinion, it is like Manny Pacquiao desiring to test himself against Mike Tyson in the boxing ring. However, Salita claimed they still made an offer to Baumgardner. “I called her manager. ‘We will make the fight at 154 [lbs]’,” she said.

“And like Don King used to say, ‘There is only one way to say yes and 99 ways to say no.’ So they said no in 99 ways,” Salita added. According to Salita, Baumgardner has only been using Shields’ name to make herself relevant in the sport. “It is all talk,” Salita concluded.
