It seems like Cardi B has been targeting Nicki and her fans, the Barbz, for some time now. It’s like Nicki still manages to get under Cardi’s skin. Why is Nicki still relevant, especially at 41, while Cardi feels her own fans aren’t as supportive? Why is Nicki’s “Pink Friday 2” album getting all this praise? These thoughts seem to be consuming Cardi, preventing her from fully enjoying her own success. She’s 31 now, and it feels like she’s missed out on truly relishing her achievements because she’s so fixated on Nicki.

Some have even labeled Cardi as an industry plant, with Kanye West among those questioning how she even won a Grammy. The real issue here is that Cardi’s success seems tied to her provocative antics, particularly on social media. While entertainment value certainly sells, relying solely on sensationalism isn’t a mark of true talent. Beyoncé, for instance, selectively uses her image to enhance her music videos, whereas Cardi seems to be constantly relying on it to sell her songs.

It’s worth acknowledging Nicki’s contributions too. She’s fought for streaming rights and other benefits for female rappers, yet she’s often discredited for her hard work. Cardi’s path in the music industry seems fraught with drama, from physical altercations to unprofessional behavior like mic-throwing. It’s hard to see how she’ll find peace in this industry, especially if she doesn’t reconcile with Nicki.
