What did Katt Williams say?

On January 3, 2024, during his appearance at the podcast, Katt Williams called out multiple high-profile comedians.

He also claimed that in his first movie role, Friday After Next, he suggested to the writers to remove a rape scene from the script.

“The truth of the matter is, the Money Mike in the original script gets raped in the bathroom, and that’s what Rickey Smiley was okay with,” Williams told Shannon.

“The problem with Friday After Next is, we’re trying to make a classic comedy, and this comedy involves a rape, and rape is never funny, no matter who it happens to or what the circumstances are.”

During the three-hour interview, Williams took shots at handful of celebs, including Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart, Cedric the Entertainer and Rickey Smiley.

The comedian blasted Steve Harvey, claiming that Harvey stole material from Mark Curry.

He also slammed Harvey’s career, saying he “couldn’t be a movie star”.

“There are 30,000 new scripts in Hollywood every year.

“Not one of them asked for a country-bumpkin Black dude that can’t talk good and looks like Mr Potato Head,” he said.

Williams then went on to accuse Cedric the Entertainer, with whom he had feud for decades, of stealing one of his best jokes for the Kings of Comedy tour in the 90s.

The comedian claimed that Cedric watched William‘s “best joke” on Comic View in the audience and told him how much he loved it backstage.

“Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on the Kings of Comedy, and he’s doing it verbatim — he just changed my car into a spaceship,” said Williams.

The Emmy Award winner also accused Kevin Hart of being an “industry plant.”

“In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of going to a sold-out Kevin Hart show…” Williams told Shannon Sharpe.

“…Or there being a line for him or him ever getting a standing ovation at any comedy club.

“He already had his deals when he got here. Have we heard of a comedian who came to LA and in his first year in LA, had his first sitcom on network television or had his own movie he was leading?”

Williams addressed his viral back-and-forth with Wanda Smith on a radio show she hosted in 2018.

The Friday actor blasted Smith for calling him gay as a derogatory term.

“This lady is trying to embarrass me in front of a largely homosexual fan base, that’s why she got cancelled”

Williams also brought up a story about LaMorris Sellers, Smith’s spouse, reportedly threatening Smith with a gun in retaliation.

“They tried to kill me, not with jokes. With a real gun in my face on real camera.

“And the world was okay with it because it was me”

Williams also denied Rickey Smiley had his Friday After Next role.

Both comedians starred in the 2002 dramedy, with William playing the character of Money Mike and Smiley in the role of Santa Claus.

Smiley previously told Sharpe he originally was supposed to portray the role of Money Mike.

But Williams said: “We auditioned in Los Angeles. I was audition No. 201. Two-hundred Black comedians auditioned for the role of Money Mike with me.

“You’re saying all 201 of us was auditioning, and you had already had the role and had already shot the role in four days?”

He also claimed he drafted a contract that enforced Rickey to wear a dress the next time they appeared in a film together which was 2008’s First Sunday where Rickey appeared as his female alter-ego Bernice Jenkins.

Williams talked about turning down demands in return for opportunities.

He claimed that Harvey Weinstein, the infamous film mogul and convicted sex offender, once offered him oral sex, but he declined the offer.

“They cancelled me for talking about Harvey Weinstein before the thing came out.

“But he offered to suck my penis in front of all my people at my agency,” he said.

Williams also claimed that Chris Tucker was connected to Jeffrey Epstein, a US financier and sex offender.

“Chris Tucker we got now is Epstein island Chris Tucker,” he added.

No one was safe from the bombshell accusations as Williams declared that Ludacris joined the Illuminati to secure his Fast&Furious movie franchise deal.

“We were both invited to an Illuminati thing and it had to be one or the other of us and decisions had to be made,” said the comedian.

But Williams had good things to say about Ice Cube, defending the artist from being bashed for underpaying his actors and calling them “ungrateful”.

“What you mean an independent black dude who’s filming it partly out of his pocket didn’t pay you enough?” he said.

Williams stated that he wanted to set the record straight and refute lies said about him.

“I’m just too big to comment or make a statement about it, or do a live or any of that.

“But when it gets to be a whole grouping of this guys, I have to come and talk to Shannon,” he said.

William also opened up about his difficult upbringing, including the time he was homeless at the age of 13 as well as his financial struggles when he started his comedic career.

Who has reacted to Katt Williams’ comments?

Kevin Hart fired back at Williams’ comments, openly mocking his counterpart on Live TV.

Speaking to the Plastic Cup Boyz, Hart joked: “Another fun fact about the New York Knicks, I don’t know if you guys know this, but Katt Williams bought the Knicks.

“And it’s rumored that he took the Knicks back, returned them with a receipt.

However, it seems that Hart had already indirectly responded to these comments a day after the viral interview’s release.

While promoting his upcoming movie Lift on X, Hart commented: “Gotta get that anger up outcha champ….It’s honestly sad.”

Ice Cube also responded to claims made by the comedian about the casting and an alleged rape scene in the Friday movie.

The rapper took to X, former Twitter, and said he wanted “to clarify some things”.

“I would never shoot a rape scene in a movie, especially Friday, where you actually see this happening on camera. That ain’t my style,” Ice Cube said.

He also added that Smiley was up for the Money Mike role, but Williams was a much better fit.

Smiley also said on his radio show that he had “no reason to lie about” the casting.

“There was no way in the hell I could have executed that role like that and I’m glad that they made that decision,” he added.

Smiley also addressed the statement that he is obliged by a contract to wear a dress if he is in a project with Williams.

The radio host said contract terms have no relevance in his decision to play a woman.

“That has nothing to do with my manhood being lessened for trying to play a role and trying to put food on the table for my family,” he said.

Cedric the Entertainer wrote in an Instagram comment: “Revisionist History, regardless of whatever Katts opinion My career can’t be reduced to One Joke Katt Williams claims as his.”

Ludacris has responded with a freestyle dissing Williams, saying “never been an illuminati, only Ill-Luda-nati.”
